Laser Application Engineer

GF Machining Solutions is the world’s leading provider of machines, Automation solutions and services to the tool and mold making industry and to manufacturers of precision components. Products range from electric discharge machines and high-speed and high-performance Milling machines - including clamping and palletization systems - to 3D Laser surface texturing machines, services, spare and expendable parts, consumables, and Automation solutions.

The purpose of the laser application engineer is to support sales efforts through technical expertise of the Laser Texturing Engraving & Structuring Technology. This includes knowledge of relevant customer applications. 

Responsibilities

Perform customer test cuts, optimize customer manufacturing processes, and demonstrate machine capabilities for on-site customer visits

Provide on-site technical support when necessary

Participate in GFMS Academy activities

Pre-sales:

  • Create sample parts within customer specifications
  • Demonstrate machine capabilities for on-site customer visits
  • Provide a technical point of contact for potential customers
  • Create Application  cases and Demo parts in collaboration with Marketing Department Generate user documentation in collaboration with Documentation department

After Sales:

  • Facilitate factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT) at Geneva and/or customer site

  • Operator trainings at GFMS or customer site

  • Worldwide application assistance (2nd level support)

  • Provide on-site technical assistance when needed

Complete other tasks as assigned by the manager

  • English is required, German is strongly preferred, and French is recommended.

  • Education: 4 year degree in mechanical engineering, physics, or a related field. Advanced degrees are preferred.

  • Knowledge in : experience in 3D CAD software such as Autocad, Rhino 3D, etc... Proficient in Microsoft Office products, primarily PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

  • Experience : CNC machine use
