Energy Asset Analyst (F/M)

To enforce its Market and Quantitative analysis team in Lausanne, ALPIQ is looking for an Energy Asset Analyst.

Ihre Aufgabe

• We offer the exciting opportunity to work closely with our asset trading team for the optimal participation of Alpiq’s flexible assets on the Western European power markets.
• Your work will consist in further developing and running optimisation models of production assets (mainly hydro plants and other renewable-energy assets, contracts with optionality), in extracting valuable information from production-relevant data (demand, supply, prices, weather forecasts, water inflows), as well as in implementing new decision-support tools.
• As an analyst close to business, you will be seated on the trading floor.

Ihr Profil

• University degree in engineering, math, physics or economics
• In-depth understanding of the power market.
• Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills (quantitative modelling of physical assets).
• Very strong computer programming experience, including Matlab, Python, and databases.
• Excellent communication skills
• Fluent in English; ability to communicate in French and/or German is an advantage.
• As a Swiss or EU citizen, you are ready to tackle new challenges by joining a dynamic team of specialists, located in Lausanne, Switzerland, active on the power generation market.
