DATA SCIENTIST, ONCOLOGY

in German-speaking Switzerland to take ownership for the following key responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES

_Driving advanced analytics in agile teams and developing solutions to support insight generation facilitating successful verification, development and commercialization of diagnostics services & products

_Maintaining and expanding knowledge of and access to available and relevant data sources internally and externally

_Leveraging and expanding existing strong working relationship with stakeholders and allies in Roche in order to jointly leverage data assets, vendor relationships, analytical methodologies and relevant toolsets

_Performing high quality, timely analyses using appropriate state-of- the-art methodologies, tools, and best practices

_Building and maintaining partnerships with other data scientists and analysts, biostatistics, and other key stakeholders

_Being responsible for planning and timely delivery of assigned projects

_Proactively raising innovative ideas and identifies opportunities to enhance ways of working (including processes, methods, technology etc.) and shares best practices and lessons learned with peers

REQUIREMENTS

_M.S. or advanced degree in Data Science related field (e.g. Statistics, Mathematics, Epidemiology, Health Economics, Outcomes Research, Computer Science)

_Strong educational or professional background in oncology

_Programming experience with R, Python, SAS and/or other statistical software packages

_Demonstrated practical experience in applying machine learning techniques to large, diverse data sets

_Exposure to machine learning and big data analysis methods and platforms

_In-depth knowledge of relational database principles and corresponding query language skills (e.g. SQL)

_Experience using big data platforms such as Hadoop, Spark is a plus

_Experience in applying statistical modelling, machine learning, exploratory, and confirmatory data analysis in mid to large volume data sets

_Familiarity with regulatory framework and guidelines for pharma/diagnostics products is a plus
